What is Les Mills™ 

Mixing the hottest music with cutting-edge exercise science, motivation and the energy of many, LES MILLS™ group fitness classes make you fall in love with fitness! 

For many years Ffit Conwy have offered LES MILLS programs as part of our group fitness. Every three months Les Mills release new music and moves to ensure our everyone stays motivated!
Les mills is available at Ffit Conwy Leisure centres as instructor led classes or virtual classes. 

Instructor led: Our Instructor led classes are run by Les Mills qualified Ffit Conwy Fitness Instructors.
With a wealth of experience, in a range of disciplines they welcome all abilities to their classes.

Virtual: Virtual Fitness classes are delivered on a big screen in our fitness studios. Led by Les Mills’ very own instructors, the very people who choreographed the class. They take you through each workout, while the music and lights help you feel immersed in the experience. Classes automatically start at the allocated times. 

LES MILLS BARRE

WHAT IS BARRE?

LES MILLS BARRE™ is a modern version of classic balletic training; a 30-minute workout designed to shape and tone postural muscles, build core strength, and allow you to escape the everyday. Incorporating classic ballet positions, with modern music, LES MILLS BARRE is a combination of cardio and strength with high reps of small range-of-motion movements and very light weights.
If you're seeking a different style of training or a new kind of self-expression, you will love LES MILLS BARRE. Without the traditional barre to support you, the muscles supporting your body’s stability and strength becomes the focus. It may look beautiful, but don’t underestimate the burn.

LES MILLS BODYBALANCE

WHAT IS BODYBALANCE?

Ideal for anyone and everyone, BODYBALANCE™ is a new generation yoga class that will improve your mind, your body and your life.

You can expect to bend and stretch through a series of simple yoga moves, elements of Tai Chi and Pilates while an inspiring soundtrack plays in the background. Breathing control is a part of all the exercises, and instructors will always provide options for those just getting started.

BODYBALANCE is a great introduction if you haven’t tried yoga before. If you’re already doing some form of yoga, you’ll love the variety from your regular class

Step into a BODYCOMBAT workout and you’ll punch and kick your way to fitness. This high-energy martial-arts inspired workout is totally non-contact and there are no complex moves to master. A LES MILLS™ instructor will challenge you to up the intensity and motivate you to make the most of every round. You’ll release stress, have a blast and feel like a champ.

BODYCOMBAT will train your whole body and get you fit, fast and strong. Unleash and empower yourself.

BODYCOMBAT works your legs, tones your arms, back and shoulders and provides phenomenal core training. You destroy calories, develop coordination, agility and speed, and feel empowered.

JUST GETTING STARTED?

You can adjust a BODYCOMBAT workout to suit. Our instructors always show options to work at your own level. Start with 1-2 classes a week and you’ll be working out like a champion in no time at all.

Inspired by elite athletic training principles, LES MILLS CORE is a scientific core workout for incredible core tone and sports performance. You build strength, stability and endurance in the muscles that support your core, improve balance, assist injury prevention, and become better at everything you do.

All the moves in LES MILLS CORE have options, so it’s challenging but achievable whatever your level of fitness. During the workout, trained Instructors guide you through correct technique as you work with resistance tubes and weight plates, as well as bodyweight exercises like crunches, and hovers. Plus there are some hip, butt and lower back exercises too.

Every class emphasizes great technique and awareness so you can learn about your body and make it stronger.

THE SCIENCE OF LES MILLS CORE

LES MILLS GRIT Strength is a 30-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout, designed to improve strength, cardiovascular fitness and build lean muscle. This workout uses barbell, weight plate and bodyweight exercises to blast all major muscle groups. LES MILLS GRIT Strength takes cutting-edge HIIT and combines it with powerful music and inspirational coaches who will be down on the floor with you, motivating you to go harder to get fit, fast.

LES MILLS RPM

RPM is a group indoor cycling workout where you control the intensity. It’s fun and low impact.

With great music pumping and the group cycling as one, your instructor takes you on a journey of hill climbs, sprints and flat riding. In an RPM workout you repeatedly rotate the pedals to reach your cardio peak then ease back down, keeping pace with the pack to lift your personal performance and boost your cardio fitness.

RPM is a great way to build up your sense of personal achievement. You can draw on the group’s energy and find your rhythm in the music. You control your own resistance levels and speed so you can build up your fitness level over time. It’s a journey, not a race!

JUST GETTING STARTED?

Your instructor will show you how to set up your bike and all the basic cycling moves. You can start off with 4 or 5 tracks and work your way up to a full class.

WHAT IS LES MILLS SPRINT?

LES MILLS SPRINT™ is a 30-minute High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout, using an indoor bike to achieve fast results.

It’s a short, intense style of training where the thrill and motivation comes from pushing your physical and mental limits. A high intensity, low impact workout, it's scientifically proven to return rapid results.

The 30 minutes you put into a LES MILLS SPRINT workout drives your body to burn calories for hours. You combine bursts of intensity, where you work as hard as possible, with periods of rest that prepare you for the next effort. The payoff? You smash your fitness goals, fast.

HIGH-INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING (HIIT) ON A BIKE

LES MILLS SPRINT is a 30-minute workout of high intensity, designed using an indoor bike to achieve fast results.

JUST GETTING STARTED?

You don’t need to be a cyclist but you do need some level of fitness for LES MILLS SPRINT. Dial it back in your first few sessions to get a feel for what it’s about. If you’re finding things tough it’s fine to slow down, reduce the load or sit up and rest. We recommend two HIIT workouts a week as part of a balanced training plan.
