Play Sufficiency
Under section 11 (1) of the Children and Families (Wales) Measure, each Local Authority is required to undertake a play sufficiency assessment every 3 years to assess opportunities for playing within its area.
In addition we are required to develop an action plan that secures opportunities for children to play. Stakeholders and partners are committed to working together to achieve the aims set out in our play sufficiency action plan so that children in Conwy have access to staffed and unstaffed play provision but also have the best possible opportunities for playing in school, in their communities and beyond.
Removal of No Ball Games Signs
Conwy County Borough Council believe play is important and as many of our open spaces as possible should allow children to play freely. Because of this we believe some No Ball Games Signs could be taken down.
If you think there is a No Ball Games Sign in your community that should be taken down, please complete the form below:
No Ball Games Sign Removal Request Form
Conwy County Borough Council supports children’s right to play as enshrined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. However, when children and young people are playing out we must ask that consideration is shown for other residents in the area.
When a request to remove a No Ball Games Sign is made an audit of the area is completed and local residents, the local councillor and local PCSO is consulted before a judgement is made about the removal.
