Cycle Training
Bikeability is the UK's national cycle training program, designed to teach children the skills and confidence to ride safely on modern roads. The training, is structured into progressive levels, covering basic bike handling to riding in complex traffic, typically delivered local to primary schools.
- Level 1: Takes place in a traffic-free environment, usually a school playground. Focuses on basic bicycle control, checking bikes, and basic skills like gliding and steering.
- Level 2: Conducted on roads. Teaches riders to plan routes, understand road positioning, and negotiate simple junctions.
Ffit Conwy Leisure Development has been collaborating with ERF Road Safety to deliver cycle training since 2009. working together to make riding on the roads safer for everyone.
Conwy County Borough Council is the only Local Authority in Wales delivering Cycle Training to every primary school since 2009.
