General pool etiquette

When using our pools we request that you take account of your own swimming abilities.  In the interest of Health and Safety please inform Reception and Lifeguard staff if suffering from an illness/medical condition which may affect your safety within the pool.

If the pool has water slides or any other features, then please obey warning signs and follow the instructions of the pool staff.

If you have suffered from diarrhoea, please do not use swimming pools until 48 hours afterwards. If you have been diagnosed with cryptosporidiosis, you must not swim for 14 days after diarrhoea has stopped. Please ensure that you use the toilet and showers before you swim.

You should not hold your breath underwater for long periods and should never do so while floating face down.

Get to know the pool before you swim.  Note the different depth zones and check notices and posters for any possible hazards, e.g. flume exits, pool inflatables.

Listen to the pool staff.  They are not there to spoil your fun but to ensure your safety.  Read and obey any safety notices or posters which may be displayed around the pool - they are there for your own safety.
