Adapted Wellbeing
Thursday 27th August | 10.30am - 1pm | James Alexander Barr Tennis Centre, Colwyn Bay
Ffit Conwy are pleased to be working in partnership with Posture and Mobility Services to support a new type of event for the region. This Inclusion Event will focus on services and solutions available to those who require significant adaptation to lead a healthy, active lifestyle.
Posture and Mobility Services is a section within BCUHB that provide wheelchair services and prosthesis for the people of North Wales. Staff will be on site on the day to talk about the services they provide and give any advice to those who are looking for more information about manual, active or powered wheelchairs as well as the different types of prosthetics available to those with amputations or absences.
The event will promote the different ways in which activity can be adapted to overcome barriers that people may face. With information from exhibitors that include Epilepsy Action Cymru and Remap, a company who specialises in adapting equipment to suit the needs of individuals, it will be an opportunity for people to explore how adapted living can support a better quality of life. Learning Disability charities Conwy Connect and STAND will also be on site to promote the opportunities that they have available.
Information about the opportunities available with Ffit Conwy will also be available with experienced staff on site to advise around the different membership options and the National Exercise Referral Scheme – including a new pilot programme aimed at youngsters.
The event will also provide those interested with an opportunity to learn more about adapted physical activity with adapted activities such as archery, boccia, cycling and wheelchair basketball being available on the day.
This event is free of charge and attendees can spend as little or as much time on site as needed. Pre-registration is available at the following link which will allow attendees to receive both pre and post event information: Adapted Wellbeing
