Coach Education
Through a long standing partnership with Sport Conwy, a programme of coach education courses are provided within the county. These courses meet the minimum requirements for both qualified coaches and for volunteers wishing to undertake coaching qualifications in the future.
SCUK Safeguarding & Protecting Children
Every child deserves to enjoy their sport. This workshop will raise your awareness of the tell-tale signs of abuse and poor practice, and give you the tools you need to deal with any issues sensitively, appropriately and effectively should the need ever arise in your coaching career. You will be able to:
- Provide children and young people with a positive and enriching sporting experience
- Recognise and respond to the signs and symptoms of child abuse and poor practice
- Take appropriate action if concerns about a child arise
(This workshop is a Minimum Standard for Deployment requirement for many governing bodies of sport. The Minimum Standard for Deployment are seen as the basic standard every coach needs to meet to carry out their role safely and effectively).
Please note: This course is not suitable for anyone under the age of 16 years. This course is not a recommended workshop for those who are looking to renew their safeguarding training.
Emergency First Aid for Sport
Effective emergency treatment before professional help arrives can go a long way to reducing the effects of illness and injury and ultimately save someone's life. Undertaking a first aid course may be the most important decision you make in your life.
Disability Inclusion Training Courses (UK DIT)
The workshop covers perceptions & experiences, understanding the participant, models of inclusion, communication, legislation, further information and who is available to help and practical experience of adapting and modifying activities.
